2022 CLASSES: Spanish - K-5th Grade

Class Description
This class will introduce students to the Spanish alphabet and pronunciation, introductions and greetings, numbers to 20, colors, animals, and food. In addition, students will learn some key verbs. Basic grammar is introduced but not emphasized.
Students will receive weekly assignments, such as memory
work, videos, stories, games, activities, or cultural/geographical content.
Classes are tentatively scheduled to be held in-person twice a month, with an additional, small-group speaking practice held virtually. The virtual speaking sessions will likely be 20-30 minutes each, with 2-3 students
meeting at a time.
Here is a tentative schedule for Spanish this fall:
Week 1 - alphabet, introductions
Week 2 - review
Week 3 - greetings
Week 4 - numbers to 10
Week 5 - numbers to 20, "there are"
Week 6 - review
Week 7 - "How old are you?"
Week 8 - colors
Week 9 - "I like/don't like"
Week 10 - review
Week 11 - animals, "it is"
Week 12 - review
Week 13 - "where is?"
Week 14 - review
Week 15 - food (fruits)
Week 16 - food (vegetables)
Week 17 - food
Week 18 - food (at the table)
Week 19 - food (at a restaurant)
Week 20 - review
